Dr. Lindsay Jaacks is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and Chancellor’s Fellow in the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Security at the University of Edinburgh.
Biography
She has previously been Assistant Professor of Global Health at the Harvard University, where she established and led a research team working on global non-communicable diseases and developed the obesity transition framework. While at Harvard, she also developed and taught field-based classes on non-communicable diseases in India and Nepal.
Her current research projects broadly aim to advance the understanding of the nexus between agriculture, nutrition, and health. She is especially interested in studying the effects of pesticides on human health and the health co-benefits of sustainable agriculture approaches. Her research further involves improving the measurement of food environments and leveraging citizen science for public health nutrition.
Dr. Jaacks holds a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Epidemiology.
