Dr. Ananya Awasthi, Director, Anuvaad Solutions, was invited for an interactive session with officers from the Press Information Bureau. The session was focused on the theme “Right Nutrition, A Shared Responsibility: Empowering Women, Strengthening Families”. During the interaction, Dr. Awasthi discussed the multidimensional burden of malnutrition in India, spanning undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies and the rising challenge of overnutrition and lifestyle-related diseases, drawing on national data and evidence-based insights. Using a life-cycle lens, she highlighted the critical importance of nutrition across all stages of life, with a particular focus on women, children, and the first 1000 days as a foundation for lifelong health and well-being. The session also emphasised practical pathways for action, including promoting healthy eating habits in workplaces, encouraging families to say no to junk foods and recognising men as nutrition champions at home.
