Bridging the Gap between Knowledge and Policy Action in India’s Health & Nutrition Landscape
Anuvaad has been conceptualized to bridge the gap between knowledge and policy action for the promotion of India’s health & nutrition agenda through a two pronged solution :
- An accelerator for knowledge translation of the latest scientific evidence on health & nutrition to inform policy action.
- An incubator for ground solutions that are scalable, sustainable, and contextual to India’s geography, population profile, and socio-cultural diversity.
Global experience shows that it takes approximately 17 years to transfer research into practice.
In India, too, there is no dearth of research and small-scale innovations that can have a meaningful impact on population-level outcomes, if they can only be translated into policy action in a timely and accurate manner. To bridge the critical gap in India’s health & nutrition landscape, Anuvaad has been established to act as not only an accelerator for knowledge translation, to synthesize and disseminate the existing evidence base, but also an incubator for outcome-driven solutions that are scalable and sustainable, while factoring in the local socio-cultural context.
